YUGA Labs, creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection, has teased the launch of its metaverse, Otherside.
The teaser video released by Yuga Labs opens with a BAYC Ape fishing.
He feels a pull on his rod, reels in his catch, and sees it’s a bottle labelled “DRINK ME.”
The ape obliges but finds himself being abducted.

The video goes on to reference other NFT collections including Mutant Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks, CrypToadz, Cool Cats, Meebits, Nouns, and World of Women.
Otherside, which will be released in April, is rumoured to be 3D gaming experience powered by Animoca where BAYC owners can use their Ape NFT as an avatar.
This trailer comes just days after ApeCoin was launched.
The token was launched by ApeCoin DAO, a decentralised autonomous organisation.
ApeCoin DAO has recruited prominent names in the crypto community to serve on its board, including Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and FTX’s Amy Wu.
They’ll serve in their position for six months, and then ApeCoin holders will vote for new members who serve one-year terms.
