SNOOP Dogg and Food Fighters Universe are partnering together to open Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration, an NFT-themed dessert restaurant.
Dr. Bombay is the name that Snoop Dogg calls his Bored Ape Yacht Club avatar.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club, created by Yuga Labs, gives its NFT holders the right to commercialize the images they own.
Bored Apes have been used for clothing, beer, marijuana packaging, as well as virtual band projects and upcoming film and TV productions.
An NFT serves as proof of ownership for an item.
Snoop Dogg’s dessert restaurant isn’t an “official” Bored Ape Yacht Club restaurant created by Yuga Labs, but the rapper is within his rights to use his NFT image for it.
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is an Ethereum NFT collection, with 10,000 unique avatars. The NFTs have generated more than $2.1 billion in secondary market trading volume at the time of writing.
Snoop Dogg’s new dessert restaurant will open just months after Food Fighters Universe – a startup co-founded by Andy Nguyen, Kevin Seo and Phillip Huynh – opened an NFT themed fast food joint in Los Angeles called Bored & Hungry – the first eatery inspired by a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT.
Bored & Hungry also includes branding and decor inspired by Bored Ape and Mutant Ape Yacht Club NFTs owned by the restaurant’s creators.
Food Fighters Universe plans to launch its own NFTs, giving owners various benefits in its restaurants.

Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell Broadus, is also involved in the restaurant launch.
He said: “Food Fighters Universe is bridging food and Web3 and blazing a trail with real-life utility for NFTs.
“It’s the future of the restaurant industry, and my dad and I are thrilled to join the team and utilize their expertise to bring Dr. Bombay to life.”
Food Fighters Universe co-founder Andy Nguyen said: “We’re beyond excited to have Snoop and Cordell in the Food Fighters Universe.
“This is the first of many concepts to come from our Web3 restaurant group, and we couldn’t ask for better partners than Dr. Bombay and Champ Medici.”
Details on when the desert restaurant will launch are yet to be released.
