DECENTRALAND has just 38 active users a day, according to new data.
Analytics firm DappRadar highlighted that the Ethereum-based virtual world was recording incredibly low numbers of active users over a 24 hour period.
It calculated the findings by looking at how many people on the platform were making daily purchases using Decentraland‘s MANA token.
DappRadar indicated the largest ever number of daily active users stands at just 675.
The low figures come despite the platform’s $1.2billion market cap valuation.
The metaverse platform launched in 2017 and saw its value ballon at the start of 2021. At its peak, it hit a market cap of over $6.5billion in November of the same year.

Decentraland has disputed the DappRadar data, highlighting that it fails to take into account those who log on to the platform but are passive users, not making a purchase.
It means that those logging on to attend events such as Decentraland’s virtual fashion week or to simply interact with other users are absent from the figures.
Creative Director Sam Hamilton says that an average of 8,000 users log on to the platform in total every day.
The figure incorporates all of those who engage with the platform regardless of how long for or whether they spend MANA.
Hamilton added that the peak number of users in Decentraland was in March, with numbers since dropping off.
In comparison, DappRadar data indicates competitor The Sandbox has 522 active users in a 24 hour period.
Its largest ever recorded number is 4,504 – more than six times Decentraland’s total.
Meanwhile, play-to-earn game Axie Infinity records 22,000 active daily users.
